use better mascara! i recommend Givenchy's Eye Fly. it's the best product i've ever discovered.

Be sure that the products that you're using to cleanse and moisturize your skin (as well as your foundation) doesn't contain any synthetic oil, as this is what gives your the marks. A great skin care line that won't do this is L'Bri Pure n' Natural Skin Care. They make a great mascara too. Check it out at suenelson.lbri.com.

Look downward and lower your lid as you apply the mascara. Keep looking downwards for a few seconds to let it dry.

If you look upwards or straight ahead, you tend to open your eyes wide and the upper lashes touch the eye lid.

get a really good mascara, I use this about face mascara it does not smudge and is water resistant, i used to be the queen of owning mascaras but now I'm completely satisfied with this,

Use water proof mascara and don't put oily creams on your eyelids.

what i do is i take a eyeshadow brush , wet it and pass it along your eyelid to get rid of the excess mascara!

i use to have that same problem, heres what i learned to do:

1- curl your eyelashes with a eye curler
2- put masacara on
3- use a special mascara brush to comb through the lashes to get rid of clumps and stuff.

use any maybelline mascara and when applying, look UP!! and then apply from the root of the lashes and tug upward gently....always works for me!

Maybe you are applying it wrong and causing it to go high. Just stroke the bush straight and tap it a little on the top.
