You problem sounds exactly like mine. Write out all of the pros and cons of having a ferret (keep it simple: go for just one). That way, you can argue all of the good things about having a ferret, and be prepared when they shout out all the bad things. Research it. What kind of cage would you get to help with the mess? What kind of products to help with the smell, like bedding? (there is a product called bi-odor which you add to their water everyday that keeps down the smell, also, ferret spritz, shampoo, etc.) I used this to get my three ferrets. Also, what my sister did to get her cat was write out a contract. In that you would state why you want the ferret, what you will do when you have the ferret (maintain good grades, etc.), and list out what you will do to get the ferret (make all 'A's/B's, etc.). Good Luck! Be firm, and stick to the idea! Show your parents that you care about it!

Well, a ferret IS a rodent, and it IS related to the skunk. How do you like it now? If you still like 'em, make a deal with your Mom. Be stubborn and sneaky...mwah ha ha ha! I'm still trying to get a Chihuahua from my parents!-and the trick is to be STUBBORN and most of all VERY CUTE. Put on your best-little-girl-in-the-world voice, and also try the occasional, "Love ya, Daddy." Here's a good plan: 'Cry' (some makeup and water does the trick) when you come home from school and say you don't have any friends. Then suggest you get a ferret. Genius! (Beware: One wrong step can send you off-course)

Ferrets are not for the faint of heart. The ferret and the cage alone costs upwards of 350 dollars...100-150 for the ferret, and 200 or more dollars for the cage. How old are you? If you are working, can your job afford that? I mean...this doesn't even include food, cage accessories and toys. Whats more is if you parents don't want you to have one there is not much you can do. They are the boss of you until you move out of their house. lol Good luck.

Ferrets are very social creatures and should be kept in pairs, male and female, neutered and spade make better pair pets.
They interact with each other in ways that humans can not with them. They really need to be kept in pairs.
My daughter had one for a while, he was adorable, and loving but very lonely and in time, quit eating. She could not afford to take on another, so she found him a good home.
So unless you can afford 2 ferrets and can handle the smell, then you may have to wait until you move out on your own.
I have a ball Python, his name is Spencer. He is wonderful and much lower maintenance than a ferret.
Hope this helps.

i love those little things!! i used to have 2 ferrets :) im guessing you already know how to take care of them, since ur sis had them, but if not, check out my source, anyway here's my method of what i did when i wanted Gerbils:
make a powerpoint presentation. use lots of cute pictures, and tell about why you would be responsible, and why they are they are the right pet for you. if you know why she doesn't like them, also, you could prove her wrong (if she is wrong)!
or, help around the house more, and show you can take more responsiblity.
i did both of those things, and my mom had already said yes, so i had to get my dad to agree. the powerpoint thing worked like a charm on him, and it was fun to make!!

good luck!! and i hope i helped!!

Well, you can show them that you're responsible like cleaning up, and doing chores and say you will take care of everything there is to take care of your farret and if you don't you could take it back! Well, hope I helped out Peace!
