How do I get a good smokey eye?

Black or dark dark grey over black eye pencil. First take the black pencil and go around your eye first and smudge with a Q-tip till you get it where you want it to be. Then go over it with a small brush (not a make-up wand) and the black eyeshadow. Make sure not to rub in any black eyeshadow that might have landed on your cheek(especially if you already applied your face make-up) ~ just blow it off or use a tissue to cover your under eye before you apply the eyeshadow to ensure that it doesn't get on your face. what i do is i first put on some black eyeliner, smudge it a little bit so it isn't so dramatic, then i get a dark grey eyeshadow, and i put it over top my eyeliner (top and bottom of your eyes) then i put some lighter grey eyeshadow on my lids, and it looks very pretty!
