Since area = base times height divided by 2, multiply 63 by 2 to find out what base times height was. Then divide that by the known height to get the base.

A = 1/2 * b * h ( formula for the area of a triangle)
height = 18 ; Area = 63 ; b = base

63 = 1/2 * b * 18
63 = 9 * b ( I multiplied 1/2 * 18)
63 / 9 = b ( I divided both sides by 9
7 = b

area of a triangle = 1/2 base x height... thus

63sq in=1/2 b x 18
63/18=b/2
63x2

18

126/18=b

7=b
