When people end up getting bootleg DVD's on ebay are they just supposed to return them to the seller for a refund just so the seller can list the movie again and sell it again? Or is there something else you are supposed to do? I looked on HELP and it only said its against rules to sell bootlegs but doesn't say what action to take if you get one, or at least I can't find it if it does. The guy says he gives refunds if returned in three days but that doesn't keep him from relisting bootleg movies. I have already seen that he does since another one like I got is listed again. I also noticed that all of his possitive feedback wasn't actually possitive, people were leaving negative remarks about bootleg copies in possitive marked feedback so the seller would give them possitive feedback in return. So anyone know what to do?

I did check feedback before I bid, it was 1000 with only 1 negative. It wasn't til after I got the bad DVD that I really went through reading this stuff and saw that most people were very happy with him, but there were several that complained of bootlegs.

1. Get the refund and return the DVD to him with a delievery comfirmation.

If you return it and didn't get a refund, please report it to the PayPal website by filing a claim for refund.

2. Get his shipping address and send all evidence to the federal including the MPAA.

Have his shop get closed by the federal agents.

3. Report his listing on eBay as Pirates DVD.

File sharing and burning DVD is one thing but selling it is plain cruel and anarchist.

Not only must the seller give you a refund, as you stated you can also leave him/her poor feedback. Leaving negative feedback is a sure-fire way to deter buyers. Before bidding, anyone with Ebay experience knows to check the Seller's feedback, and make sure they're legit. Also, report this person to Ebay, as what they are doing is not only immoral, it's illegal. Best of Luck!

When you are in the seller's listing page scroll right down to the very bottom, there is a link there which says "report this item" click the link and follow the instructions.

There are ways to report misleading sellers to E bay. If the ad says the DVD is authentic, he is not allowed to post it as so. He must say it is bootleg and that would be selling unauthorized merchandise.

Not only would I continue to report it to Ebay, but I would also check and see which studio produced the movie and I would report it to them. I am sure they will be MOST interested!
