8th grade graduation IS important. Ask your counselor at school, or a teacher, what the dress code is for this event. Most schools have one. Your best bet is to keep it simple and modest, and it need not be expensive. When I graduated 8th grade, the girls wore simple white dresses to graduation.
You can buy an appropriate dress at any clothing store. Try J C Penney or Sears for starters. Good luck. I hope you find exactly what you want. Congratulations, too.

I would go with white or some other pale color depending on you skin tone. If you have really pale skin, go with a blueish tent. If you are tan, go with a pink or orangish tone. If you have dark skin, go for white or yellow.
For my 8th grade graduation, I went to white black.
Hope you find a cute dress!
P.S.- Beauty isn't measured by what you wear, it's measured by *who* you are. :-)

In my opinion, dresses from Lilly Pulitzer, BCBG, and J. Crew are the best for those occasions.

Things sure have changed since I went to school.
We had to make our dresses in Homemaking or our mothers had to help us sew the whole thing ourselves.
You kids are lazy - you get to go to a store and buy your dresses.
