Sweetie, some of us start later than others. I didn't get mine until a month before my 15th birthday! Some of my cousins started by the time they were 8 and some not until 19! Alot depends on when your mother started hers and how much body fat you have on you. If you are pretty thin, I was 68 lbs at 14, it may not show up until you get a little weight on you. I hit a growth spurt and hit 90 lbs before I got my period. You are more than likely, completely normal. If you hit 18 without your period, I'd start asking a doctor.

You can be as young as 9 to as old as 19 to get your period. You will eventually get it, don't worry about it. I'm 14 and got mine at 13, every1 is diff rent. My friend didn't get it until she was 16. Oh and if you are an athlete and have or have not had your period yet you can lose up to like a year of cycle!

Hey and if you really want to know some full details about your period click on this website because it's great for information for girls by girls (tampon and pad companies!) :

On average, menarche (a young woman's first menstrual period) occurs between the ages of 12 and 14 years old - generally two years after her breast budding (average age 10 to 12 years old), and, in most cases, not long after the onset of pubic hair (average age 12 years old) and underarm hair. Stress, various types of strenuous exercise, and diet can affect the onset of menstruation and the regularity of the menstrual cycle.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that a young woman consult her physician if she has not started to menstruate by the age of 16, and/or if she has not begun to develop breast buds, pubic hair, or underarm hair by the age of 13 or 14.

You are normal, I didn't start until near the end of year I was 14. If you are really worried, talk to a doctor, call planned parenthood, talk to a nurse. They'd all know.

Most girls get there first period between the ages of 11 and 15, but it is not abnormal to be as old as 18 or as young as 10. so i wouldn't worry about it.....everyone is different......if you are worried ask you mom or guardian to take you to the Dr.......

You're normal.

It can vary at what age a girl starts her period. The usual ages are between 10 and 18.

If you haven't started when you're 18, ask a Gyn about it.

i think you're normal.... i got it at almost 15. my friends did also.. if you don't get it by age 17 then i think that might be a problem.. the thing is, is that girls now a days are getting their periods real early like at 10 or 11 but i don't think you should worry about it.. i know you want to be like all your friends but you can't rush that babe!!

lol, I know you should never get your medical advice from wikipedia, but it says that 14.5 years old is when it is considered late.

Are you underweight or play a lot of sports and have a low body fat percentage? That can contribute to it not showing up.

it depends if you are small or underweight....i have a friend who didn't start untill she was 18 because she was so skinny...just depends on alot and everyones different! it can also be later if you are very active.....i think your fine but you might want to talk with a doctor just to make sure!
