You can get wireless internet for both PC and laptop.

The part is that you need high speed internet then a wireless router that shares wirelessly. Then, you would need a wireless card that will fit into the laptop's slot and then connect via WEP through wireless router.

You can do both and not one of the other.

The NIC card is what gives access to Broadband. WLAN cards are NIC cards, sorta. So go for it.
Keep the PC as a Backup Storage Device, or yank a HDD out of before you give it away and use it as an External Backup Data Storage Device.
This helps you save data from crashes, or viri, they happen, and when the system does crash or get all goofed up, you have a Current Backup.
That's smart computing.

broadband has absolutely nothing to with the style or operating system of your computer, just make sure your laptop has an ethernet card in it (NIC) either hard wired or wireless if you plan to get a wireless router with it so you can use your laptop anywhere in the house without connecting a cable to it
