when u start your period for the first time it dont have to last long at all and it doenst have to be red. It would be kinda a dark brown more the reddish and u may or may not have cramps. as each month goes by it will get worse but in the beginning u wont go but maybe a day tops. My daughter just started her period and she had the same thing as u are describing.

Ok, hun, first of all....the lenghth will not matter. If it was even slightly pink and just a tiny bit, then you could be getting ready to start. Keep a pad or tampon on hand at all times. I'm not sure how old you are or what your weight and height is, but that seems to determine what your flow CAN be like. If I had to guess, I would say that you are maybe getting READY to start. Have you had any cramps or other symtoms???

A rusty color or brown color is normal for when you begin and end your period. (For me at least) Anything outside the reddish range (purple, pink, teal) you should get help right away! J/K!!
You should speak to your mother or another adult that you feel comfortable discussing this issue with.

it can range anywhere from red to brown. and, it can last for a very short time your first time, it's actually rather normal. don't listen to people saying a 'normal' period is 3-5, because for the first time, you can be very short and random. i would suggest finding a trusted adult, most likely a woman, like your mom, to talk to about it. she's been through this before. just try to sit her down and talk to her. good luck!

don't worry... my obgyn told me that spotting (when just a little blood comes out) is fairly normal in teenage girls... I had the same problem and it is no big deal... sometimes the color may vary from a red to even a brownish color, but it is all the same thing.... so don't worry it will all be okay.

OK, I know this sounds really gross, but there's no way I can think of saying it that wouldn't be... its really like bloody mucus - and you know how blood kinda turns brown if you let it dry up? its kinda like that, fresh looking when you start, and by the end of the week its all brown and gross, at least for me lol

Well your period is red. Do you have cramps or something like that? If you do you should check with your mom or a trusted adult (preferably female)
