Seriously. What would cause an oven to turn on by itself? This morning ours did and the house filled with smoke, because it turned on to like 500 degree. The indicator light that is usually on when the oven is, wasn't even on.

I should mention that sometimes when we turn on one of the burners, we get some sort of F3 error and the clock has to be reset. The stove is only a couple years old.

Get rid of it, do it NOW!!! You have children, do not take ANY chances, it's not worth it .if I knew where you were I would replace it for you. Please heed my advice, this is not a joke. To "olddaggadad" above, Gin is [most] always serious.

This unit has an electronic control. It must be defective. You need to have it serviced or replaced.
We have an electronic stove/oven. When the power fails during use, it doesn't come back on until we start it again. This is considered "failsafe mode".
However: Do you have a cat or other pet (bird) that might wander over it and bump the buttons? Some can be quite easy to depress.

Since I don't believe in ghosts, your stove has a short. I had a microwave that used to turn itself on. This is so cheap, I threw it out and bought a new one. A stove is worth the call to the repairman. Be careful the house doesn't burn down. CALL SOON or unplug stove when out.

Yeah, you definitely need to have it serviced. Contact whoever makes it, Kenmore, etc.... and get them to come look at it. If you are getting an F3 indicator, that only means one thing. Its goanna cost you money to get it fixed. lol...
In the meantime, at night, unplug it.

that is weird. I would have someone come out and look at it. you don't want it to turn on when you are not home.
