Congressmen should be on S.S. like everyone else. This would probably fix all the problems, now faced by regular people. There should be a line item veto to cut the pork out of most of the bills that don't get passed.Cut out anything free to any illegal aliens.A flat tax (income) should be looked at.Like a 5% tax no matter how much you make.No short forms,no long forms.Make Senate rs and Congressmen work with revenues from this and not one dime more.Long term, pay teachers aleast twice what they get now.A better educated young person is worth millions to our country in the future.

Cutting off aid to countries who hate us is one option. Before Iraq, the biggest drain on the coffers was entitlement spending which sucked up 60% of the treasury. Stop making welfare a "career option" for the lazy would also be a great place to start.

Eliminate useless Government Departments, like Education ($55 billion) and Transportation ($58 billion). Also, simply shrink the Government, and spending will shrink.

The liberals have us flooded with pork:
-unnecessary social programs that destroy the middle class
-taxes that destroy the middle class
-gun control that takes away our freedom and gives us a huge bureaucracy

how're you gonna do that?
I think we should get rid of the ammendment process. A bill goes to the floor as is. If you want to tack something on, implement it into the original bill.

Not commit to wars we don't need to be in. Not like we are spending billions each year to be in Iraq.
