college? Don't they want their kids to work hard to pay for their own education?

We believe that working hard in school and getting accepted to a college IS paying for their education. I myself have a liberal mother and paid my own way through college with scholarships and loans. I fully expect my kids to earn scholarships from their hard work in class and extracurricular programs.
I don't believe I as a conservative have ever stated that children need to pay their own way, just able-bodied adults.

That would be pretty dumb to make your child pay for college when you have the money for it. What kind of parents don't want to help their child when they can. Working hard also means working smart. Getting a good education is what is important, not how it is paid for.

I worked two jobs to pay for my own college, thank you. And my children will start saving for college as soon as they are old enough to work.

Call it a gift or even a reward.
I'd rather teach my kid the value of a job well done - that is, the reward of their hard work in High School and my saving and investing on their behalf, so they could pass that on to their kids.

You sound jealous because you parents won't pay for your college. I guess you'll have to get a job and go to school like everyone else.
I think if my kids will benefit, I will help with their schooling, but once they graduate, they will have to get along with minimal assistance.

I don't! They work for it too, just like I did! I'm thinking of being a liberal so I don't have to work hard and live off of those conservatives that do, at least that would make me equal to you...right?

That's the conservative's cover up beliefs that they use to act like they have morals and values. They really just like to hand their wealth down from generation to generation and walk on the backs of the middle and lower classes.
