Well, actually not a lot. The coffins have names on them that are similar to the names of the family of Jesus and they claim there are inscriptions on the coffin that contribute as evidence. This is hair raising stuff as one of the coffins is said to contain the "son of Jesus". DNA has been extracted but I'm not sure what they've got to compare it to!

No body has ever found a coffin or ever will find a coffin with Jesus body parts in it. Jesus was buried in a tomb and rose again after the third day, just as He said He would. The people that found the coffins say that they think they found Jesus bones. How can you find bones of someone who is ‘LIVING’?

Moz, I’m not sure why you want it to be Jesus. I know it isn’t Jesus and I am very happy that it isn’t, because if it were, the Bible would be a total lie. God can’t lie, so I know that the coffins could be a publicity stunt.

It is a shame so many are deceived about he things of God. There are many who will not believe because they are not ready to believe.

Justme is right on target. Dan, not every body’s answer is a good one. Hay Bret B, more information is available if you want to learn the truth about Jesus. Take a look at the links below. RockStar, there really isn’t anything hair raising about this at all, except the claims of finding the bones of Jesus. He is living in Heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father.

Jesus dead? Jesus bones? I don't think so! I don’t know who’s bones they have extracted the DNA from, but it isn’t Jesus.

Jesus Christ did not have a coffin. In accordance with the Jewish customs, His body was wrapped with spices, myrrh and aloes, and strips of linen. He was laid in a tomb that was new. On the third day He rose.

It appears that around Easter time, some archaelogists claims a find related to Jesus or the Ark.

DNA update ... they were comparing DNA from the coffin marked Jesus to the DNA from the coffin marked Mary.
The DNA was different. so seems they were people with similar names that were husband and wife .... they couldn't be Mother and son.

The original place in Jerusalem said to be the tomb of Jesus was one of the locations confirmed. The Romans tried to desecrate the place by building a pagan temple over where believers worshipped within a short time of Christianity poking its head up. Aftrer Christianity became the State religion of Rome, they knocked down old temples and built churches and monuments.

None!! All rthey have found is a couple of coffins, one of which is inscribed 'Jesus, son of Joseph"
this means nothing, as both names were, and still are common names. It's like finding an inscription saying "John, son of Richard" It means nothing.
According to the New Testament, the normal method of burial was to anoint the body with oils and spices, wrap it in linen, and lay it in a tomb.

sorry but he wasn't buried in a coffin he was placed in a tomb and then 3 days later his body wasn't there cos he rose from the dead. have a look through the bible.

apparently there is a place where his cross was placed in the ground and the hole is still there with a glass case or something built over it. not sure how true that is though

He was barred in a cave or carved out tomb. He had not coffin so that would debunk that. But if you talking about the cave or tomb I have no idea how they can make any claim.

Remember Jesus name was a common name. So It would not make a large impression to find a tomb with his name on it. Plus it was a borrowed tomb. So maybe the guy that lent it to him was barred there when he passed.

no evidence at all. I saw the news item, and it's a beat up for J Cameron's new film. There were lots of folks named jesus around at the time, (4BC). There is no way of telling becuz there are thousands of coffins just like the one on the news item.

I have seen documentaries on this over the years, as this news is not new... The Christians who want to believe this rubbish are the one eyed, brainwashed, told you so types.. They will cling to anything that bolsters their dying religion..They are already changing the way things allegedly happened and saying the Bible was misinterpreted and he ascended only spiritually.. Sheez , spare me... Jesus was a common name in those days , just like Peter is now, (for men in my age group).. I say it's Bull sh*t and the media are selling papers world-wide with this sensationalism...Sorry Christian believers, you'll have to do better than that to convine me and a few billion others, that Jesus was even real never lone found buried in Jerusalem....

All I've got to go on is a news report with James cameron saying he had found it. I am not sure what EXACTLY they found, how they are comparing the DNA and who with or even if DNA would survive in those circumstances. As far as I can tell not enough information has been examined by people competant to make decisions
