favorite movie villains to me can't be demented and insane. they
can't be someone who has no control over their evil. they have
to be someone who exists to be villain that they are and are
smart and cunning and a worthy adversary. Hannibal , therefore,
almost makes the top. he falls short though, because of his
mental illness. he is not in control. therefore my ultimate villain is
keyser soze from "usual suspects". he's selfish, cold, calculating
and deadly. when are they gonna make part 2. i love movies.

Too hard to choose. It's either
Hans Gruber (the cool urbane villain) from Die Hard or the funniest, crazy villain
Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves.
(both played by Alan Rickman)
Holly Gennero McClane: After all your posturing, all your speeches, you're nothing but a common thief.
Hans Gruber: I am an exceptional thief, Mrs. McClane. And since I'm moving up to kidnapping, I suggest you be more polite.

"Locksley! I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon." - Sheriff of Nottingham
"Why a spoon cousin? Why not an axe?" - Guy of Gisbourne
"Because it's dull, you twit, it'll hurt more." - Sheriff

Biff Tannen in the "Back to the Future" trilogy. His whole bloodline is rotten, from Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen to Griff Tannen.
If there ever was a 'pure-evil' gene, it would definitely be in the Tannen lineage.
