Do you have healthcare? Physicians will usually schedule a 20 week ultrasound to check on the baby. And at that point they can tell you the sex.
Otherwise you can look into Ultrasound places where you live. You'll have to pay though.

I'm assuming by the question that you do not have insurance? If not, check with your local public aid office, or see if your state has an insurance plan like "ALL KIDS" you can get temporary insurance while they process your state insurance application and you can go see a doctor. The state will five you names and phone numbers of doctors near you.
I was on group insurance but switched jobs when I was 3 months. I'm not covered at my new job until May 1st, so I am on the state's insurance and luckily the same doctor I was attending also accepts the public aid. This way you don't have to pay out of pocket.
If you go to a local hospital and "pretend" to have pains, you will still be charged for not only the ultrasound (usually around $800) but also for the ER visit (another $200) and anything else they charge you for. Some hospitals may be lenient and put you on a payment plan, but most will just throw you right into collections and ruin your credit.
It is rare to find a doctor who will provide a checkup let a lone an ultrasound to someone without insurance. And giving payments plans is just as rare, they may ask for a large retainer fee upfront.
Try googling Advanced Women's Healthcare... they have locations nationwide I believe... I go there and I love them, and they were willing to have me put down a retainer and they provided many options for me without insurance.
Good luck to you... ultrasounds are very expensive. If you do end up paying out of pocket, I would wait until you were 25 weeks so that it is more clear as to what the sex of the baby is so that you don't waste you money and they tell you they cannot determine the sex.

Well this is easy...you should have had a sonogram by now...they know the sex if all went well, but you should also be coming up for another sono to measure the baby if you are 21 wks, they should be doing a lot of measuring at this point...so you can just tell them next sono that you want to know. If you are scheduled for your next doctors appt but its like 2 wks out and you can't take it give your doctors office a call and ask them...they MAY tell you, maybe not though since it is over the phone.
Best wishes and do try to remain calm, it is best for your baby to stay stress free and calm if you can.

Talk with your doctor. If you don't feel the baby move a whole lot or the doctor has concerns about the heartrate or something, you can usually get it done. My doctor was willing to work with me about getting a second ultrasound done to figure out the sex of the baby. Turned out there were concerns about the heart anyway so it happened faster than we thought. Everything turned out ok, but we are definitnly having a boy! Good luck!

Different hospitals have different policies, and some will not reveal the sex of a child. Not only because of legal issues but also because it can affect the mother's choice as to whether or not the child will be kept. (as awful as it sounds, these things DO happen). If you're stressed because you're trying to get baby supplies or redecorating your nursery, go the safe route with yellows and greens!

I was in your shoes with 3 boys and wanted to find out if I was having a girl. I told my Doctor that my babies father had a history of retardation in his family. It worked like a charm, and he ordered an amniocentesis which gave the sex of the baby a girl. Its not a simple test, but you will be able to find out it the baby has any abnormalities. Good luck.

Don't worry about what sex it is. What does it matter? All that matters is that it's healthy. I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and when I have my routine ultrasound, I'm not finding out.

You should already have an ultrasound scheduled at this point in your pregnancy. If not, go to prenatalpeek.com. They are great! A little expensive, but definetly worth it.

pass to the physician. Your physician could have scheduled one at 4 months. in case you do not have a doctor, locate one. if it is because of the fact your uninsured, sign in for state maternity coverage and notice a doctor.
