Golden Fleece story. Any Hercules story.
The golden apple story of the princess who wouldnt marry unless the guy could beat her in a race, and any who lost also lost thier lives until one guy got some golden apples, and as he raced threw them in her path so she would stop to grab them, and he won the race.
The whole guy who could not stop looking at himself in the water story. (Narsuccus? Narccisuss?)
The god who was chained to a mountain and had his liver eaten every day (and grew back every day) by a bird as punishment for giving man fire.
The goddes (Artemis?) who was bathing in the woods, and a hunter saw her. She turned him into a deer for a year and let him be hunted by his friends as punishment.

Try the story of Sisyphus. He was forced to endure a punishment of rolling a big ball up a hill, only to get to the top and have it roll all the way down again. He never made it over the top and down the other side. Kind of like my life.
