I'm pretty sure our shower is gas, I think they said something about instant gas?
Since I have moved in i have been fluey with sore chest, cough and throat and cold!
How can I fix it?
Would turning the gas up or down help?
Or should I contact the real estate?
Thanks!

First of all, take urgent heed of the warning about carbon monoxide and how you are feeling.

It may be a water-flow problem rather than a fault with the gas. See if you can take the showerhead apart. If it has calcium deposits, soak it in vinegar then scrape and scrub clean.

I would contact the Real Estate company. If there is a home warranty call them, if it is a rental call your landlord. In any situation directly after moving in you should not have to mess with the hot water heater, unless you bought a fixer upper and have no warranty.

are you sure a room mate isn't in the other room turning the hot and cold taps on and off, stealing your water? If not yes contact the real estate people / landlord

Turn it off, get it checked NOW. Your fluey symptoms could be caused by carbon monoxide and this is lethal even in small quantities.

Get the thing checked & quickly. You can't mess around with faulty gas appliances, it could be fatal.

get your landlord to look at it, or even get yourself a litle carbon monoxide tester aswell, and place near the gas boiler.
