i hadnt gotten my period for 4 months before the dr perscribed me the hormone provera to make my period come down. (i missed it due to being off birth control and stress). so now were trying to have a baby but i want to know since i was on the hormone and it was that that made my period come down is it possible to get pregnant? if it is when would be the best time to take a test? my period ended on the 17th.


any tips by the way?

There's a hormone, that doctors prescribe, to start your period again (but I don't remember which one it was), BUT, it can cause birth defects in rare cases.

You should wait for 1 full month, until you get your period again (naturally) before trying to get pregnant.

if your periods are irregular then you will definitely need to chart your BBT and check your cervical mucus to determine when you are ovulating. If you have a 28 day cycle then you'll probably conceive around day 14. Ovulations happens 10 - 14 days before the start of your next period. You really need to chart your BBT etc. Then have sex every other day during the week you suspect that you are going to ovulate. You need to have sex before ovulation. Also, provera will not have an impact on the health of your baby. Many women TTC use it to induce a period. it is still possible to get pregnant after taking provera as long as you ovulate. so have fun charting and checking cervical mucus.

If your cycle just ended the 17th then you are about....to ovulate...your ovulation should run the 28th through the 4th of March. This is based on a cycle of 28 days between.

So get ready...
