What would you do if your spouse had been emailing a character from a game he plays for 6 months behind your back? Dirty e-mails...and everytime u asked about if anything was going on, he lied to your face and guilted you into thinking it was just in your head??

I would be livid if I found dirty emails to a character from a game online!!! then I would feel betrayed and like I never really knew my husband at all. I would feel violated. I have been cheated on in both ways---online and in person. Its not fun and its not something to take lightly.
It is just a game to us but to your husband its another life entirely...one where he rules. Your husband has been nurturing a part of him that needs attention with another person instead of spending the time letting his wife help him nurture it.
Cheating is just that---nurturing a relationship other than the one with your spouse--regardless of whether its online, in person, or "just dinner".
There's lots of great advice here...do what feels right in your heart....sometimes the rest of your life starts with goodbye...

You'll probably get some that accuse you of over reacting, but they probably play similar games themselves & have their wives getting at them about it.....then come on here & answer your question trying to make you feel as though your concerns are nothing at all. But quite honestly I wouldn't be putting up with it. The easy solution to this is to ask yourself would your spouse put up with you doing the same stuff behind his back......I'd bet my bottom dollar he wouldn't.
It's the lying & insulting way he's dealt with it that would get to me more I think.....

Sounds like hes having an affair and doesnt do a good job in hiding it. Let him know how you feel and that if it doesnt stop, he needs to go. It is a form of cheating and he needs to know that. If you have the proof, show it to him, even if it means him getting mad that you looked at his personal stuff. It all starts this way and can get much worse if it doesnt stop. I wish you the best!

He played you and lied to you. Unless he takes accountability for what he did and apologizes he is not sorry and will probably do it again. Don't let him treat you that way. You deserve better.

You are picking an awfully stupid thing to pitch a fit about. Apparently it doesn't take much to "tear you apart" if you can freak the hell out over something so small as this. A little naughtiness online is a pretty common thing, you have to trust your husband not to carry anything over into real life... And if you can't trust him like that, why are you even with him?
Too many relationships have to go through unnecessary pure hell because of a nagging, jealous wife that over reacts to trivial little things that are no threat to her whatsoever.

I agree with Sadie. Print out the emails, give them to him and at least file for a legal separation. Tell him you'll consider going to counseling with him but will not get back together with him UNLESS he goes to counseling. That is so immature of him. Are you sure you still WANT him?

Does he play World of Warcraft?
Tell him to choose between you or the game. If he keeps playing the game - you have your answer. And yes, one CAN give up the game if one wants to. My bro-in-law has been seriously addicted to WoW for a long time, and just recently gave it up, asked us to change his p/w for him, and uninstalled it from his computer (it was getting in the way of his work and his social life).
