Let's try something that works with your skin tone and makes you look your best.
No points for originality, I'd say.

Soft metallics are back, this year - gold, silver, bronze and copper toned silks, satins, flowing chiffons, and draped crepes. Brown, navy and wine colors (burgundy, claret, champagne, etc.), though usually reserved for the fall and winter, have made it into the spring lines as well. Although staples for evening gowns, designers have opted to reserve the classic red, black, white and cream for, shorter length, cocktail dresses. Pretty pastels are always a good choice, with extra details, such as beading, applique or lace trim for a distinctive touch. There is not much pattern in this year's lines - the razor-thin pinstripes and pin-dots, seen in last year's holiday designs, did not carry over into this year's presentations. One refreshing return is the 'color bleed' (color becoming, progressively, lighter as you travel the length of the garment) in vibrant orange (think 'tequila sunrise) and blue-violet. The emphasis, this year, seems to be on the back and shoulders; gone are the plunging neckline, cinched waist and defined boustier. In are the long, clean lined, fitted gowns with spaghetti straps (or strapless) and modest necklines giving more attention to the face and neck, shoulder and arms. The silhouette is statuesque - long, soft and graceful; no more overindulgent Hollywood glam. The makeup is, likewise, soft and natural and the jewelry is simple and understated. It's all about the beauty of the woman wearing the gown!

prom is all about being a princess for a night you can never go wrong with pink (light pink NOT hot pink) or classic white ... you dont want to wear a really bright color ( bright colors on a prom dress screm lady of the evening) and that is not what you want ... you want your dress to say that you are sexy and hot but also say your are a lady and you expect to be treated and respected like one !!!

Well I just bought my dress and it is a metallic teal color. I agree with the other guy, who said to go with you're hair color and skin tone. Different colors look good on different people.

Why would you want to wear the same color as everyone else? See what looks best on you and go for it, girl. Don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd instead of blending in with it!
