I know Shultz would have lost big time anyway because Snoop is different from snoopy.

I doubt it. If you ever see the behind the music on Snoop Dogg, he credits the name as a nickname he got from watching the cartoon so much as a child. And I dont think there is an age overlap. Kids who listen to Snoop Dogg arent really involved with the Peanuts comic book anymore. Snoop Dogg might also avoid a suit because he does spell it "Dogg" not "Dog," if Shultz ever wanted to sue.

No, because it wasn't Snoopy.

And he never sued anyone named Lucy, Linus or Charlie Brown. (A former boss of mine was named Charlie Browne and I kind of wish Charles Schultz had sued him. HA!)
