ok as a cancer man i will tell you whats up... first off we have deeper feelings than most people so we naturally have to have a strong shell in order to protect these feelings...we "care" and because we care, we are very careful as to who and what we "let in". If you are interested in just a quick fling then this cancer guy probably can sense that and wants to protect himself number one...we go at things sideway, we like to test the water before we jump in, case in point, we take risks when we know that we will succeed in advance (i won't ask out a girl unless i KNOW she is interested). its not an easy sign to be when your a guy because of the stereotypical expectation of WHO a guy should be... "guys shouldn't have feelings and all that".. ok typically cancer's ideal woman is an air(gemini) or fire(leo) or sometimes water if venus is in his own sign... this is because venus does not move much farther than 30 degrees from the sun so it stays in same sign and adjacent signs except when retrograde

I'm a Cancer woman who dated a Cancer male-
oh, god, help us all.
It's bad enough that I'm super-sensitive with this impenetrable shell.
It's worse when you've got uncommunicative fools with a lot of scar tissue from someone sneezing on us.
And when we finally get near you, it's usually cause we're hurt and are going to attack with claws that never let go till you surrender!
If you can buck up and figure that out, then you can realize that the Cnacer is the Spiritual Mother- yes, even the males.
It's hard being that nurturing when you're male, so expect confusion. It's easier for me.

i have a male best friend whom ive known for years who is a Cancer. They are kind of eccentric, emotional, sometimes moody with flights of fancy. Usually very intelligent also, we get along great and share an alike mind, me being a Scorpio female.Sometimes they can be hard to understand and can live in their own little world like a hermit. Believe it or not they are pretty awesome dudes, biggest heart ever, but that shell thing is a hard one to accept, it's just their way of protecting themselves from being hurt. I am currently involved with a cancer man, he's great, but he hide his true feelings for fear of getting hurt

They are really sensitive and emotional . Hard to understand because they are always hiding in their shells.... afraid to take a risk. Don't Go There if you are interested in one!!
