I recently bought a dual core PC with 2gb RAM running Vista. When connected to the internet using my BTVoyager 2091 its deperately slow compared to my old PC running XP which is half the spec.

Ive tried lots of things - checked the firmware on the router, disabled add-ins, turned off protection and phishing. Even tried disabling the "Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level" setting in the TCP/IP stack (http://www.neillans.co.uk/?p=165) but no joy.

I suspect its a config setting on the router as I've connected to another router using Vista and didn't experience the same slowness. Any ideas ?

No one's asserted that they've worked all the bugs out of Vista. There's no reason to believe your router is actually going to work well with this new OS. Until a year or so (when the first service pack comes out), you'll have a host of compatibility issues with all kinds of software and hardware.
That said, I have a couple of thougths. First, do you have any "protected material" on your computer (copywrited music/video/etc.?) If you have ANY at all, Vista's digital rights management kicks in (even for non-protected files). Any device it considers non-secure, which definitely includes your NIC card, is going to go into secure mode, dramatically increasing your overhead. It may just be more noticable on the Voyager.
Second, I'd check the drivers on your NIC. If they're not Vista certified (even if they are...) they could be causing havoc. Check for new/better drivers. You might do that for the whole system.

i don't understand why your internet would be slower, according to danger that's a motive force glitch like the different individual says. yet, as on your McAfee subject, make certain you upgraded to the Vista version of McAfee. they provide you the upgraded version for loose in case you pass to there internet site and clarify your subject to a technician. according to danger this would fix your IE subject too. according to danger McAfee firewall is messing with it. good good fortune. desire this facilitates.
