Homeless people are the same as you and i. Except they dont have a home. It takes more than 25c or a dollar to live. There is a vicious cycle in place here, and it takes more than chucking a buck at someone and hoping they will go away. I work with homeless people and the issues are diverse and often complicated. If you look at the system where you are writing from you will probably find the people had very little chance to rise above the predicament and be productive and self supporting declining your paltry contributions, judgemental attitudes ad other negative burdens you choose to heap on another person less fortunate than yourself.

Yes I have and no, I don't concern myself with what he does after I give him some money, what I always think about is how come america has so many people out in the streets when we spend billions on that iraq war. I have a feeling like no one cares for homeless people and you or I could be homeless too, one day, you never know. But I know that our government, local or federal does not care about nothing but making money and telling nothing but lies. I rest my case but continue to wonder why we have homeless mothers with their homeless children etc.etc.

Yes!
I gave money to a homeless individual and saw him a few days later looking all cleaned-up, and he recognized me also. He was buying cigarettes.

Some people make a "profession" out of "pan handling." Think of how much money a person could collect, doing that every single day in a very busy downtown area. (Of course, they're not ALL like that.)

Many are bums, alcoholics, drug users. All of them are into something with the local government and hoods. Depends on what you gave them and what they're looking to get.

thats why you dont give them any money in the first place. If you want to give them money just give them food or a snack instead.
