History will tell. Lets just hope that there is fair and balance in the history books. Some historians have already written their page on the Bush Administration.
I think our society doesn;t have the "stomach" for war. We've had it too good for too long and cannot come together and support our nation.

I don't think that we need to wait twenty years to figure out rather this President has been successful or not. President Bush has essenital put all of his eggs in one basket, and that basket is Iraq. He has no domestic policy, his attempts to reform social security was a complete failure, and he's done nothing about immigration.
This president has decided to focus almost entirely on Iraq and therefore his legency will be dominated by the war in Iraq. And so far, saying as a Republican, I would have to say that his legency will leave much to be desired.

Yes he is...put it this way...if FDR was in office today, he'd be despised by everyone.
America, unfortunately has become a pacifistic country. If World War II was going on today, even if America knew about the Holocaust, liberals would still be calling for the removal of troops. It's sad that America cannot defend itself anymore, but that's the truth. Keep in mind, I don't necessarily believe that the Iraq war is moral, or that we are defending ourselves, but if we pull out now we will end up having a more detrimental effect than if we stuck to it.
So to answer your question, yes, Teddy Roosevelt with his "walk softly and carry a big stick" philosophy would be the most despised president of all time if he was in power now.

He enables his Ideology to trump straight forward experience 17 of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers, the learning camps from which they originated and the monetary banking for the completed fiasco have been all Saudi. start to end, end of tale. Bush did not approve of his dad leaving Sadam in skill after the 1st gulf conflict, Saddam tried a private vendetta against his dad interior the kind of a foiled assassination attempt , the Bush kinfolk is tight with the Saudi mucky mucks , 9/11 happens, Bush leaves the Saudis off the hook in his axis of evil record and Iraq gets it between the eyes. He sees what he needs to work out and ignores inconvenient truths that get interior the way of his objectives.

I'll be honest here, no he isn't. He might be a great guy to have a drink with, play tennis with, or golf, but as far as running this country, much less a war, my lord no. Bush has to remember why he took office in the first place. I think he tends to place his financial and personal wants and needs ahead of the american people and our troops. You cannot do that as president. You must be totally neutral, have thier interests and needs in mind at all times. Your wants and needs have to come last. Dead last. A war shouldn't be about who has the larger male apparattus, rather, its about trying to agree to disagree with the least amount of casualties, coming to some sort of compromise that leaves all parties satisfied. If that isn't happening, and you know you can't win on any front, don't even attempt it until you can get someone to try to meet you half way. Bush refuses to do this, escalates wars for profit and political gains. You can't do that as president.

Good point.
But bear in mind, back when Teddy Roosevelt was president, the Democrats didn't hate America so much.
Even the Democrats were Patriotic back then.
Hard to believe, isn't it?
GOOD QUESTION.
(Bush is a lot more popular than the News Media says. They do not give honest polls.)

I think the popularity of presidents DURING their terms is absolutely irrelevant, considering the fickle nature of the public. Seeing the lasting effects and determining whether or not that president's policies were RIGHT comes some time after that president leaves office.

I think you are right about that......I think with any pres certain times call for certain attitudes. I personally feel that when this is all said and done we will realize that Bush has done more good for this country than people realize. People just refuse to see anything other that the war....and I know that is the big one, but there are many other things going on as well...
