Louis Daniel Armstrong (August 4, 1901– July 6, 1971) died at the age of 69 just a month before his 70th birthday. He was nicknamed Satchmo.

Louis Armstrong's version of "What A Wonderful World" is my all time favorite song.

Hope that helps.

I think his age is a guess...I read somewhere that he really wasn't sure when his birthday was and he guessed at it. Growing up poor and that long ago records were not always kept.
