Electronic data storage. It is what makes all computers, gas pumps, street lights, elevators, and everyother electronic device work. With out it there whould be no learning from the computer or internet. There would be no way to transfer medical info from the doctor to the hospital where the patient is. No gadget or device that runs on electricity. No cars as well. We really advanced with electronic storage of programs and data. The computer chip enables all that we call civilization to exist!

Air Conditioning It made living and working in much the U.S. possible. Many areas would simply not be able to support a work force with this invention.

I think a better question would be what will be some of the biggest inventions/advances in the next 100years... but yeh pretty standard response for me
