Not a very big one, the White Anglo Saxton Protestants who comprimise the power elite did most of the damage, although sending a Black Woman to deal with sexist Arabs in the Middle East didn't help the U.S. cause.

Well first of all just cause you are black does not give you some type of free pass to not being American.
If you are an American citizen you gotta take the whole thing warts and all. The question is ridiculous because it implies "White Americans" have some greater responsibility for this administration's alienating the rest of the world. The way they shunned and condesended towards the protestors internationally.
The way Bush just pretended all those people did not exist.
Black citizens are going to take the heat with everyone else - you are not special because of a higher density of skin pigment.
Besides that - many black people are just as racist towards muslims, gays, non-christians, etc, etc as the most hard line right-wingers.

Well, have there ever been any black Americans who:
- served in the CIA during any of its illegal operations toppling governments and halting the flow of global democracy?
- interfered with local economies through organizations like the World Trade Organization or the World Bank?
- raped and pillaged abroad?
- Lied, stolen, or deceited the world community through bodies such as the United Nations or via the U.S. State Department?I
It's not impossible for a black American to have participated in any of these, hence helping to ruin the image of the United States abroad. No, not impossible... Just look at Condi Rice.

If you are referring to a culture in America, comprised in large part by blacks, that hates the police, fails to be responsible for educating themselves, starting an honest career, maybe getting married, THEN having children - a culture that relies on entitlements and spends a great deal of time figuring out how to take advantage of the system under the guise that the system is out to get them - then, I see what there is to hate. Since that culture includes people from all races and does not include all blacks, then I would not say any part was played by blacks.
I also think that we aren't hated by the rest of the world, we have been envied. I also don't care what they say about us - we live in a diverse society that is free to disagree without shooting each other (except in the culture referenced above) and yet we still thrive and others will risk their lives to come here. I still say this is the best country in which to live!

the hatred of america largely stems from policies made by mostly white males. if anything, the hip hop/gangster culture (i'm thinking pac-man jones style) could cause some angst around the world, but i know that tupac is very glorified in the middle-east. also, not everyone hates americans - you're being very general.
most decent americans portray themselves very well across the world. in fact, i dispelled a lot of hate with canadian travelers by being myself and not acting pompous. if they still hate, then they're jealous of our lifestyle and freedoms. god bless america!

Unfortunately, Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice are considered "black". So even though Colin Powell is a good guy and was used by his administration, he definitely played a role. And of course, Ms. Rice is just plain evil. On the upside for black folks...many people in the black community don't really consider either of these politicians to be black at all. So...maybe blacks haven't played any role at all!
