The Magna Carta was the base that all rights in the UK, USA and Canada (and any other country that is in anyway associated with Great Britain)

The biggest similarity?

The sacred protection of life, liberty, and property.

It was an early document in England, and one of the 1st to spell out beginning of many of the rights we have today. In has no legal force in modern society. In fact later Kings repealed certain parts, added, modified, and ignored.

It did greatly influence English common law. In the US we still hold with a lot of English common law. Also it influenced many later documents. For example "Habeas Corpus" which grants a right to trial is granted by the US constitution. (Unless you listen to the Attorney General.)

PS- Honestly the Magna Carta didn't give people a lot of rights, and was ignored by the powerful all the time. For example the right to a trial doesn't insure a fair trial. It was merely revolutionary at the time.

Trial by jury, for one.

The Magna Carta no longer has any real legal validity, in that everything covered by it has been covered by statute in the UK. It never had any real status in the US.
