hello, i just had a test in history about the French revolution. a question that i got wrong was, ''Which is the FALSE statement? The French revolution..... a) brought religious peace to france, b) tried to dechristianize europe, c) permanently affected the church or d) did not much affect the church.

I ruled out that a+b were not correct and was left with c, and d. I then decided that d was the best answer, which i soon found out that it was c.

so basically what im trying to ask here, is didnt the french revolution permantly affect the church?

im not too disappointed because i got a 95., but still, a 97 would be better.

Reformation affected the church few hundred years before that.

You could say it affected the church by weakening their political influence over government since people started wanting to govern themselves.

It permanently affected the church in France. Catholicism used to the state religion; now, according to a 2006 poll, only 27% of the French believe in ANY god whatsoever. The church used to be a real force in French politics; look at Cardinal Richelieu, for example. Now the church is largely ignored. The Revolution played a large part in this change.

the two revolutions gave extra equality to ladies persons. The French Revolution gave social and sexual equality to ladies persons, and it replaced into written into the Napoleonic Code, in spite of the certainty that i do no longer think of they have been given the vote. The Russian Revolution gave equality to ladies persons. In the two cases the idealized efforts fell short and the equalities have been slowly taken decrease back. this could be a warning of what can come if women persons think of that equality, as quickly as given will final perpetually.
