Yes, we do know that the single DNA molecule has a structure determined by the DNA of a single egg and a single sperm. We know that this single molecule determines nearly everything about the physical characteristics of the grown organism. We don't know how it works, but it's a miracle that it does work, again and again! Even when the process breaks, there are additional DNA repair processes which correct most defects. Man has never created anything with anything near this capability.

At what point in this process does this developing organism become a human life? Some say at birth. So, does a doctor performing a Caesarian section create life that wouldn't be present until a natural birth would have happened? That makes no sense. Is it when brain activity starts? Is it when a heartbeat starts? The only dividing line that makes sense is conception itself. Before that, you have an egg and a sperm which don't grow or reproduce, and will never form an organism unless they join. After that, you have a genetically complete organism which needs only appropriate environmental support to grow into the genetically programmed final product.
