Everytime I turn around I hear people screaming and bashing YAHWEH (GOD, LORD). They say he created cancer, STD's, Aids, cause me to loose a limb, caused my wife to be taken from me, made me lose my job, and the list just goes on and on and on.

Okay....we all know from childhood that there is good and bad, ying and yang. Well we were all taught that God, YAHWEH is good and Satan, Lucifer is bad.

So why today, and why as adults or young teenagers do we forget such basic items as good and bad? Would not Lucifer be the one causing all the misery and pain? Would he not want to cause Aids, STD's, etc just to see you suffer? Would he not make you look the other way and blame the innocent for his work?

Is this not how a basic bad human acts? So why would Lucifer act any different? For evil is evil is it not? And good is good, is it not?

Think about that the next time you want to shake a finger at heaven and accuse them of something that they are innocent of.

The reason is simply that God the creator of EVERYTHING, actually did create everything. Every good and wonderful thing every bad and deadly thing including lucifer. Why?

I grew up being told that God isn't responsible for disease or hunger of famine or natural disaster, but that human beings who sinned caused God's wrath or that the devil was active in their lives.

But there's always the question asked over and over...if that is so (everybody) "Why do bad, horrific things happen to good people?" Why is a grandmother who has done nothing but help everyone her entire life dying a difficult painful horrible death? An answer might be "Because she is a strong and beautiful person she was chosen to show people how to have faith and persevere even in the worst circumstances and she'll have her reward in heaven". But that would mean that there was value to what happened to her, does that mean that the devil was responsible for something good? Or that because of her environment, and the way that the human body works (the one God gave her) she contracted cancer. The devil may have tried to drive her to despair, but it was hers to choose which way she'd deal with her illness.

God created all, god is all of creation. It is up to us to learn from and grow and deal with the world that we were gifted good and bad. It is the devil the tries to stifle that learning and growth.

(Theologically speaking) Absolutely nothing happens without God's consent. God created free will which provides a lot of leeway. Also, humans are responsible for their own doom as much they may blame Satan or God or whatever. You're in charge of your own life. Remember the story of Job? Satan had to ask permission to destroy Job's life and God let him just to test Job. Think about it.

Finally, and I'd like to make this very clear to everyone, God is neither good nor evil.

Because, in the end, its God that allows Lucifer to do all of his bad deeds.. think about it, if God wanted, the Devil could easily be destroyed. But then again, God allows people to be punished and to go through things for a reason... Who is anyone to question God anyway?

First of all, Satan does not inflict anything on us unless permitted by God. Secondly, God does not let us be tempted/tried beyond what we can handle. Thirdly, everything happens for our own good, but we usually focus on the negative side of things. I'm not saying people get AIDS because they deserve it. God's ways are not ours, so we will never understand HIm fully.

I believe in God and that Satan exists, but it's simplistic to blame everything on him and credit God with the positive. People are ultimately responsible for their own actions.

If you believe in a single, all-powerful god, than any "devil" must either operate with that god's approval, overtly or covertly.

Lucifer was the Etruscan sun god, BTW. That name was stolen and misused by Christians well after the fact.

I don't believe in satan or lucifer. One must take responsibility for oneself and not blame bogeymen for problems. The concept of accountability does not or cannot live with the idea of an excuse like 'lucifer' made me do it.
