Why are so many in the young gay community struggling with self worth, drug abuse, and a constant cycle of partying. Where are all the brilliant gay young people, and can we go on a date?

Hey...
i think it's because we have been manipulated all of our lives.
And sent into the oblivion known as straight societies beliefs.
I further believe that these institutions promote ignorance. and they promote the straight lifestyle of settling down with kids etc.
It is a straight playground.....these colleges and universities.
It is also a tool of extreme mind programming.
I live to far to go on a date. sorry. LOL

Wow sterotyping your own comunity much? I think where you pick up dates needs to change because it obviously does not attract the type of man you are looking for. All the young twenty something gay men I know either have their associates, their BA or found full time jobs.
Not everyone is college material but this is not an exclusive trait of the gay comunity. Infact, the more prolific sterotype is that college is often considered where young men and women are 'turned gay' through libral arts programs and queer theory classes.
With all the negative sterotyping we get from outside our comunity, do you really have to ad to it from within?

I would wager that the percent of LGBT teens that are not in college is about the same for the general population. The percentage would be higher, but you have a population of otherwise college-bound LGBT teens that are abused or runaways due to parental or familial homophobia.

I only have a year and two months and then no more uni for me :)! I think I'm a bit too far north for yah though kiddo ;).
I know that it can feel really issolating in uni surrounded by a million straight people but I'm sure that your campus has a gay/lesbian outreach program and such. You should go; you never know who you'll meet hey?

Are you kidding? Many gay kids are in college and yes many gay kids party just like hetro kids. You just sound frustrated. Good luck.
