Liberals and democrats alike launched a mid term election campaign based on their disgust with the war in Iraq. Some even went as far as to apologize for voting to support action against Iraq. So now what? What now democrats? WHAT'S YOUR PLAN NOW THAT YOU'VE WON THE VOTE?????

"Swept into power by voters clamoring for an end to the war in Iraq, Democrats have seen their efforts falter under a reality more complicated than they found on the campaign trail. While the public is fed up with Iraq, there is little consensus over what to do." -yahoo news http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070226/ap_on_go_co/flailing_over_iraq

Seems like some of the people answering weren't watching the nightly news. First obvious vote that happened was a "No Confidence Vote" which barely gave the democratic party a leg to stand on. The vote was suppose to be a precursor to a vote on a Murtha amendment holding back funds for the war. It was a GIANT failure!

Now the Democratic party hasn't got the muscle to put Murtha's proposal forward and their (Liberal) cries about everybody hating the war and wanting to pull out are proving to be incorrect based on current respected polls, not the nightly news or blogs.

You are absolutely right about the campaign trail though, and I'm sure that won't quit. If Hillary says the war is bad, then the blind leading the blind Liberal voter will believe what she says. Don't mistake this paragraph as a GOP plug. All those on the campaign trail will lie to get what they want. We, the voting US citizen have created these monsters that follow a creed: A campaign pledge is not a true mandate for an electorate!

Yeah, the Republicans screwed up the world pretty bad over the last 6 years, now it's time to verbally berate, and blame the Democrats for letting them do it. It's like blaming the corpse at a murder scene, but what else can neo-con's do, admitting their mistakes and actually working to help the Libs in a non-partisan way is out of the question.

The majority in Congress, as slim as it is can cause no real change in Presidential policy, Bush and Cheney are quacking and limping us into an escalation with Iran that by all accounts will be as bloody as any war we as a country have ever fought, but lame duck politicians answer to no one, an Bush & Cheney never have been held accountable for anything they have done in the past so why start now.

I miss Colon Powell, he was the lone voice of reason in the Bush administration. If your answer is to rip on libs, it's not going to work. Whether we "cut and run" or "surge" the war will go on long after the 08 elections so it really doesn't matter who wins, the American public lose.

First you need to take a chill pill. Second realize that joe schmo on the street has no control. Third rebulicans and conservatives alike are just as fed up with the war and the effects it is having on us over here as any democrat and/or liberal. And fourth If you want something done -get yourself elected and do something otherwise don't complain when you don't get everything you think you need.

It went through the House easily but the Republicans in the Senate ran a filibuster to stop any plan the Democrats had regarding cutting funding. If people are still as much as they seem to be against the war that may not be a good move for Republicans. Next year is election year again and voters will be reminded of who filibustered so more Americans could get killed or wounded for Georgie's little war for oil and revenge.

ya cant blame the demacrats for failed efforts, ya cant blame the republican either, you can blame someone for trying to make them muslims demacrats and that is the problem. as so as the answer it simple, any one or nation that has ever got entangled with these crazy as* es and islam always get the short end cause all them idiots do is fight each other. if we would have left iraq after taking saddom out the war would have been a success, when you try to help or comprimize with them liers and i mean all of them not just this or that party your in a no win situation cause they belive if your not one of them your should die. So bush wants to try to pro claim himself a hero to the world but who is paying the price because satins people got him entangeled too. mabey we should learn what happens when the axis of wars and politicians run cowboy policies on the people of the usa. inb general people really are mad at bush and his what i call new demacratic terrorisim plans are. they dont deserve or will they ever want democracy because they live united by the karan. so dont blame anyone for failed policies except for the one who put the plan in action and with all his intelleget resources refused to accept the truth, made a mockery of nato rules of war, bankrupted america and hijacked democrary for his own personal interests and ignorance. i served 8 years in the corps and glad i wasnt in this war, not that i wouldnt mind fighting for my country i just realize when the country has been bamboozelled and would hate to risk my life for a complete idiots decision.

This is why Democrats being in power is a bad idea, frightfully scary actually. Most democrats and liberals are idealistic people who have no clue how to actually translate ideals into anything fruitful.
Then, when they do occasionally pass something, they raise taxes to pay for their decisions.
Basically, the Democrats have no ideas and two agendas - get elected and raise taxes. They have ideals but no intention to do anything with them.

You want ideals acted on, the Green party's good with that...otherwise the Republicans are the party to stick with, they'll actually act on what they think is right.

By the way, what basis is there to impeach Bush? He's not a very good president, but he needs to commit a federal crime to be impeached. Democrats who think Bush should be impeached are just showing their ignorance and stupidity.

Here is the deal.....I have yet to hear a plan.....all they seem to know is that Bush is a dumb***.....I am a rep, and I agree that things should have been done different.....I know we need a new plan....but the only plan I see coming from the Dems is one of two things....and thats LEAVE NOW....and everyone knows that will just make things worse....and the other is "Bushs plan is bad" They offer no other solutions.....If you are going to say something is bad, at least give a realistic alternative.....

Many Democrats (excluding Joe Lieberman) have no plan other than to embarass the United States and the president. They see the solution as simply giving the federal government more power to regulate our lives. Nobody can name one thing that the Feds do efficently, but the libs want more power to run our lives

It is increasingly obvious that the president will ignore all counsel that does not meet his preconceptions and do what he wants to anyway, regardless of all facts. Only impeachment or the next election will stop him.
