catcher ivan rodriguez - For the catcher spot, this guy will provide good average and some power. For a bigger league he should be decent.

1st baseman ryan howard -Assuming last year was not a fluke, you can expect (in my opinion) 50+ HR's and 120+ RBI's. Could have a sophomore slump though.

2nd baseman marcus giles - Just decent.

3rd base ryan zimmerman - Should have won the Rookie of the Year, will provide good defensive numbers and pretty good power/average from the plate.

shortstop micheal young - Good hitter for average, good defense behind the plate as well.

of: adam dunn, manny ramirez, torri hunter, utility bonds:
Pretty good power numbers from all of them, Dunn & Bonds might have lower averages but otherwise solid picks!

pitching:sp jason shcmidt roy oswalt rp brad lidge adam wainwright bench : barry zito jeff suppan dan wheeler : Those are pretty good picks. I predict a sub-par year from Oswalt, though.

Grade = 8/10. Trades to look out for: Better third & 2nd baseman, a closer!

I'd give it a 6 in a standard roto league. You will do well in the power categories but you have no speed and your average will be towards the bottom thanks to adam dunn. Injuries could hurt you here as well with bonds and Manny being hurt over the last few years. As far as pitching you should finish close to the bottom in saves with only one close who was unreliable for most of last year. Zito and Oswalt will help your overall numbers but I'm not sold on Shcmidt in LA yet. Because you will struggle for points in three of the ten categories you will have an uphill climb but its still possible for you to win your league if your guys step up in the other categories. I would try to trade Dunn to take away the hit he will put in your average for a guy like juan pierre who will add lots of steals and runs without hurting you in other places. You can spare the HR with Manny and Howard on your team. As far as a closer is concerned I would drop wheeler for Soloman torres of the pirates or jose valverde of the D-backs if one of them is still out there on the wire. If both are available drop suppan or wainwright as well. Your team isn't bad, it just has a few holes that need addressed to win a strong roto league.

give it a 7 over all, 10 on HR - Runs and RBI's. Give you a 5 on BA. and 4 on SB's. 7 on Pitching (another closer and you have a 9)
16 players? I don't know what scoring format you are using. Not much speed, enough power and RBI's, pitching ok with schmidt and oswalt. 1 closer and his setup man, maybe Holds is a stat in your league? Dunn hits 40 empty HR's a year and carries less than .240 avg... someday his strikeout total will meet his batting average. So I hope you are not in head to head. Bonds takes self appointed days off so you will need a back up. Look for Pudge to cut his number of games played this year by about 10 as well.

Depends on the size of the league that you're in. Small league = 6. Large league = 9.
Besides Oswalt, your pitching is incredibly weak. Your only closer, Lidge, is uncertain (nice insurance in Wheeler tho). Schmidt, Zito, and Suppan are all overrated pitchers and Wainwright is another uncertainty as he moves to being a starter this year. Offensively, you're pretty much set, but you could downgrade slightly to sharpen your pitching staff. I'd try to move Zito or Suppan with Hunter, play on their past success and hope to rip someone off.

I would give it an 8 because although you have very good players, there are flaws. Adam Dunn strikes out a LOT, Torii Hunter isn't very reliable because of his batting average, and Brad Lidge has a pretty terrible E.R.A. Watch out for Marcus Giles because sometimes he has health issues. Other than that, you have a very good team.
