I don't mean people with allergies to sunlight (because that is real) or those who are not able to create enough blood to sustain themselves. I am refering to the vampires of legend with fangs, supernatural abilites, strength, senses, and speed, the works.
I personally dont think that they are real and I have had my share of comments from angry vampire believers who are motivated by a craving for the strange. But to those of you who do believe in them, what is your proof? Don't take this as an insult, I am not trying to bash you. I am just curious.

There is a subculture that refer to themselves as vampires, who will regularly cut/bleed/drink from each other. They don't have any supernatural abilities, but they believe that they do. It's a weird crowd. Anyway, that's the closest I've ever seen to it. We've got a whole crowd downtown where I live that does this sort of thing. *shrug* I don't buy into it.

Yes. I am married to one. Fangs, abilities, strenght, speed, all a yes. Though he can't smell, all of his other senses are quite keen. He can't fly, of course, but hollywood can't always be right.
Also, he doesn't actually use his teeth. Did you know that vampires don't have to puncture skin to drink blood? They can actually draw it up through the skin. Oh, and immortality is perspective. They are reincarnated. And due to their nature, they remember their past. As opposed to humans, who may only remember fragments, if anything at all.

I believe in vampires. I also believe that sometimes you don't need "proof" in order for something to be very real to you. Proof sometimes is used to make people look silly just because they can't produce a shred of evidence - haters love to put people down. Perhaps the vampire is successful at eluding people because they are ever so much smarter than we are....

I don't BELIEVE in anything at all (it takes a bit of observation, or lots of knowledgeable sources for me to acknowledge information as leaning towards truth than fiction), but my excuse for having all of my guns and ammo stash is a just-in-case the zombie invasion does come, or people start going vampire-nuts.
Never hurts to be ready...ever watch a zombie movie, where people are stuck without enough ammo?

I believe in vampires..i believe this because in many societies found all over the world believe in some creature that sucks blood be it a human or some other weird creature.People believe in vampires in societies that didn't have contact with one another until way later..so there must be some base of truth. .examples are the Mayans..they believed in Camazotz which was a part human, part bat creature that sucked the spirits of the recently deceased..just because they don't suck blood doesn't mean they aren't vampires..while the Mayans believed in this..the Hindus of India believe in their goddess Kali which is associated with vampiric traits...these two cultures are to far apart to just share a myth there must be some base of truth.

Vampires do exist but not in the Hollywood sense that you are describing. There are folks called Psi vampires who drain a person's energy by simply being in their vicinity. Also there are folks with blood fetishes. But the traditional stereotype does not exist.

Well, I believe because I just do. And besides, I have a friend that's a vampire...well, more like part vampire. And, no, he doesn't completely avoid sunlight at all costs. I live in So Cal. Go figure.

If you mean Vampires that subsist on blood, there are small bats in south and central america that do so. If you mean Human vampires, there are people who play quite seriously at being vampires, but they do not and can't subsist on blood alone.
The closest humans to the description of vampire meals are the Mongolian nomads who drink a mixture of their horses milk and blood.

i don't really believe in them but i do believe that there are supernatural. as for proof on vamps., well, personally, i don't think anyone wants to risk getting bitten for a picture/ fangs or any proof of them.
