For girly stuff I would probably say to watch Love Hina, its very girlish with the love/comedy overtones as opposed to the intense battles with male based anime. FYEs all over the country seem to be having anime sales so that is a good place to start looking.

It's about a group of girls living in Japan and their daily life and the funny situations they always manage to get in. I highly recommend it.
