I have this painful groin pains which has playing a role on my nurves causing it swell. I had to run to the toilet a few times (feeling i need for number 2) but nothing comes out except for once when it was mild diareyah, all the signs for labour about to begin but no contactions as such. my mum thinks im going to go into "real labour" by tonight i wanted to hear from you ladies who have experienced the same thing, did you go into labour within 24 hours after experiencing this or more? does your belly always have to go hard when its the real thing? is this a start of irregular contactions? whats ur story?

this is my second baby and am 39 weeks preg but it has been 3 years and with my first it was all stright foward no pains, 2 weeks over due then boom on the day i had contactions and my daughter arrived after 13 hours of labor.

I have not had my baby yet but I read that groin pains in late pregnacy can be the baby's head dropping or engaging into the pelvis. I hope everything goes well, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

When I was pregnant i had pretty severe groin pain.It wasnt until I was in the last weeks i found out that it was SPD.The pelvis opens ready for the delivery of the baby stretching a muscle in the groin and the pain was the straining of this muscle. It normally sorts itself out within a week or two of giving birth.SPD(Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction) is rarely recognised in the UK and many women go undiagnosed. It is worth talking to your midwife about.Approach her with some info as I struggled to find many people in the medical profession that knew about it.If you have SPD your midwife can advise you on birthing positions that will take the pressure away from the groin.

Have a lovely soak in the bath, stop stressing and if you are in labour you will sure no about in a few hours time!! You need to keep your energy up and worry is no good!! I had something like you with all three of my pregnancys and labour soon followed, just take it easy and babs will be here sooner rather than later! Good luck chicken and all the best for the future for you and your family xxxxx

i so hope my labour is like your first!! anyway. my sister in law had the opposite to you, she got incredibly constipated, and was pretty sure it was just Braxton Hicks and went about her work very happily for two whole days...and then flooded her bosses room when her waters broke! i beleive the first thing she said was "so THATS why...." plonker. anyway. i would tend to agree with your mum on this one, it sounds like the first signs of labour!!! so jealous...im 30 weeks and feel like i'm carrying an elephant already!!!

oh..if they're irregular its most likely just good old Braxton Hicks, but i'd advice u keep a close watch on the timings of them

good luck!!

all i can say is relax
stressing over it will only make you feel worse.
take a bath to help with the pain and try to get some sleep just in case it does all start tonight
good luck
hope it all goes well
