How bad is it to drive with a bad Engine Mount?

How bad is it to drive my 98 honda civic CX with a bad engine mount? Also, why is it that no one believes that I got my car off the speedometer? And Can I reset the comp to not govern my engine?(now it shuts off at about 118-120ish)

Ok, what I meant was pegged it. and btw I was joking with that question, see its exactly like chat....ya need to put after everything tha is a joke. and btw my spedo goes to 130, like most 98 civics do. At least all that I have seen, have gone to 130.

A bad engine mount will misalign and put pressure on the entire drive train which will eventually lead to a much more expensive problem.

Why would you want to disconnect the speedometer, you're setting yourself up for a speeding ticket?

After market chips are available for most vehicle computers that will alter a lot of pre-set conditions, but you may run into trouble when you go in for an emissions test or roadworthiness test.

Modify with care, your tires are probably not rated for that speed and a blowout at 100 mph is an ugly thing....

Driving with a bad engine mount means the entire engine can move about. That can put the engine into the radiator for one thing, depending on which is broken, or beak expensive drive parts. Get it fixed

I have no idea what "I got my car off the speedometer" means, unless you are saying you pegged it. If so, and if you're out there running at 118-120, you won't have a license that much longer anyway.

Mucho bad.

Every time you give the engine gas, it torques upward. If it is not mounted securely, it pulls all the belts, brackets, pumps, etc. with it and it's only a matter of time before things begin to break loose.

I don't know what you mean by the speedometer question and I have never heard of any car being governed by the factory but if you are talking about 118-120 MPH in a Honda Civic, maybe they should!
