Plenty of that going around. I'm not a fan of Billie Holiday. I met too many real people fallen by the wayside who actually sound like that without trying to be ' singers. '

It's a very sad song about racism in the American south. It's a real eye opener though and anything Billie Holiday sings is good.

Well, first of all I love Billie Holiday. She's one of my faves. The song's sad, though, cuz the 'fruit' she's talkin' 'bout are lynched african-americans. I'm glad things aren't like that anymore.
