No, in lunar calendar they don't use number representing a year. So you can say jan. is still the dog year. The more accurate name is "丙戌" year. I don't know how to say it in English.

It's a lunar calandar, so it's not 2006, and it's not 2007 either.

the Chinese use the same calendar as us for most things, but use a different calendar for their celebration. they are not based on the birth of Christ, so it's the year 4642 (I think).
