YOU CAN. It just depends on which Subway you go to. They are all franchised so it depends on what the owners want to carry. I've gotten ketchup at my local Subway. It was on a cheeseburger sub. All these people are like "ewww" but ketchup rules! I've actually gotten it on a turkey sub before too. It tastes good with turkey, cheese, bacon, mayo, and ketchup. I really like how some of these people think they KNOW that Subway doesn't carry ketchup and WHY. LOL Well, how do you explain ketchup at my local Subways???? lol Obviously this means that they DO CARRY KETCHUP FOR THEIR SUBS!

Most likely becasue their market research shows that the demographic that they are marketing to has a extremely low percentage of people who would put ketchup on a sandwich. So the marketing and business plans do no include ketchup as a supply or product. As a franchise you are contractually bound to abide by the company plan and carry only approved supplies and products. If you like ketchup so much, save packages you get from other places and put it on yourself after you have ordered.

Okay, here's the deal.

A franchise is an outlet that purchases the ability to use a company's trademarks and methods of doing business. In other words, Subway does not use ketchup on a sub because it is part of their business practice. Franchisees do not use it because they would violate the terms of the agreement, which is subject to audited books and actual spot checks from the parent company.

Subway has certain logos, methods of doing business (the assembly procedure), trademarks (the "sandwich artist), and so on. This is called a "corporate identity."

In addition, no subway shop puts ketchup on a sub when they have tomatoes in the sandwich. Go to Quiznos... no ketchup. Go to Blimpies... no ketchup. That's life, kid. If you still aren't happy, open your own sub shop and use ketchup.

Isn't subway now making pizza? SO in a sense they have sort of a spicy ketchup with all the pizza sauce they use. Maybe you should ask for a side of pizza sauce since they dont have ketchup. Or bring a big bottle of ketchup in the store with you and use it in front of them. Dont let them control you... dont give in to the dark side.

Seems like ketchup would be a good idea, and it would be low cost anyway. I usually use the Southwest sauce, but I don't do much of Subway anymore. Not since they took away the Crab & Seafood sandwich, and recommended to me the Tuna in its place.

How is a Tuna sandwich a good substitute for Crab and Seafood???

Plus, they raised the counters and you cannot even see the condiments anymore. . .

Because they sell subs and usually nobody puts ketchup on a sandwich.
