Janus has a face that looks to the back and to the front, he is the god of doorways, and guards them. The door he is watching over leads to a huge treasure chest. You must offer him the first few lines of a sad song, and while he is crying, you can sneak by...

I'd sing this song, "Soldier of Fortune" by Deep Purple:
"I have often told you stories
About the way
I lived the life of a drifter
Waiting for the day
When Id take your hand
And sing you songs
Then maybe you would say
Come lay with me love me
And I would surely stay

But I feel Im growing older
And the songs that I have sung
Echo in the distance
Like the sound
Of a windmill goin round
I guess Ill always be
A soldier of fortune

Many times Ive been a traveller
I looked for something new
In days of old
When nights were cold
I wandered without you
But those days I thougt my eyes
Had seen you standing near
Though blindness is confusing
It shows that youre not here

Now I feel Im growing older
And the songs that I have sung
Echo in the distance
Like the sound
Of a windmill goin round
I guess Ill always be
A soldier of fortune
Yes, I can hear the sound
Of a windmill goin round
I guess Ill always be
A soldier of fortune"

Or "Poor Edward" by Tom Waits. But I have to be careful not to anger Janus with this tune...

The needle and the damage done by Neal Young should have him weeping for hours

I caught you knocking at my cellar door
I love you, baby, "Can I have some more?"
Oh, the damage done
I hit the city and I lost my band,
I watched the needle take another man.
Gone, gone, the damage done

I sing the song because I love the man
I know that some of you don't understand
Milk-blood to keep from running out

I've seen the needle and the damage done,
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's like a setting sun

Rockabye baby in the treetop. When the wind blows the cradle will rock. When the bough breaks the cradle will fall and down will come baby, cradle and all. That's a pretty scary and sad song don't you think?

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

I'd treat him like any doorman.

"Listen, pal, if you don't want my money, I'll take it to the place next door".
