ya... Me... It was sad... But it was true. The guy was a jerk and beat her. I spoke up and told my story. Aparently in Idaho the justice has no choice but to listen to the objection. Her dad said thanks, toof the kid away and 'had a chat' he never came back. No wedding. all were happy. I ended giving the dad $600 to help with the costs. He had no idea about the abuse and was grateful.
She thanked me about 3 years later when she got married for good to a good man who treated her right.

Didn't actually make it to the wedding; many years ago a neighbor gal was engaged to be wed and my mom was asked to make the wedding cake. As we were preparing everything to load up and take to the wedding, the bride and her family pulled into the drive and apparently the groom's mother called the whole thing off. Sad as it was, it was also very funny at the time. So for desert, we had wedding cake!

Yes....it was me!!!! I objected to my dad's remarriage to my evil stepmonster when I was 10. I started crying and stamping my feet and yelling, " You have to re-marry mommy!!!!" It was frickin hilarious and I was the flower girl so I got to do it in front of about 200 onlookers.. Yes!!!!!
