Yes! Every summer my best friend's mother would tell us that! Why did she say that anyway? What's the most that could happen if you swallow a watermelon pit anyway, you'd just poop it out. Silly adults. Another silly adult, a nun at catholic school, once told us (in 4th grade) that if we ever see a black squirrel running around in the playground, we should feel sorry for it, cuz a BLACK squirrel, instead of grey, means that it's poor mother mated with a RAT! How ridiculous -- cross species breeding of rodents! I've got a million of 'em.

I was told that if I ate watermelon seeds, I would become pregnant. If I ate apple seeds, an apple tree would grow inside my stomach.

Yes, My aunt used to say that if we swallowed watermelon seeds they would grow in our stomachs. I guess that is why I don't eat watermelon to this day.

Yes my 95 year old grandma told me that all the time (apple seeds will grow a apple tree in my stomach.)Where do they come up with such weird/silly things.

Yes, and I too have said some silly things to my kids. I wonder if they just thought that we wont remember what they told us or what they said when we got older.
As for saying silly things to my children I'm just trying to get them to tell me "no daddy that's not true" lol

i ate dirt and watermelon seeds, then i drank a bunch water
and then the next morning i had a baby watermelon in my colon

Yes. Adults tell kids all kinds of crazy crap. Also that if I ate my bread crusts my hair would be curly. Which I did and it is NOT curly. Honestly, it's a wonder we trust anyone.... ;)
