It is NOT the first person's answer because they aren't in parenthesis. Only the Y is being cubed, not the coefficients as well.

No, the 6 and the 2 are NOT cubed, only the Ys are cubed.

The answer is 8y^3.

8 * y^3 (add coefficients of like terms)

first do 6yx6yx6y which is 216y and then do 2yx2yx2y which is 8y and add them together which is 224y
