That depends on what brand/model of PC it is. Sempron 3000 is just the type of CPU it has...there could be many different kinds of motherboards in there that will hold all different types of memory.

You need to check your computer manual or inside your computer and see what is currently installed so you can get the same type, a computer will only upgrade to a certain level and the motherboard will be full.
Need more info to give you a better answer...
Good Luck,

your system is standing on socket 754 for AMD, so the RAM memory suitable for you is DDR1 PC3200 or lower, but the higher is better. despite that, to upgrade your RAM memory, make sure your motherboard support it. 'cause it useless when you buying a piece of memory(1 GB) but your motherboard doesn't support it. ok have a nice day :)

it will depend on your motherboard..
if you have allyour booklets it will tell you your memory ram type,
if not you will have to open and remove the 256 one you said is inside it should tell you on it. if you are still not sure, carefully wrap memory and take it to a actual computer store the technians will be able to help you
enjoy

You didn't tell us the manufacturer of the computer or motherboard, so we'd only be guessing. Visit http://www.coastmemory.com and look up your computer. This should tell you how many SLOTS your computer has and how much it will take. They guarantee that it will work for you, so go with confidence. (their prices are good too)
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Hi. Almost certainly DDR RAM, but you can go to sites that will scan your PC for what memory is compatible. Crucial.com has one.
