Just to get it in your head, identify all of the adjectives in this sentence.
The blue, fat bird landed on the dewy, green grass and ate a plump, pink worm.
(blue,fat,dewy,green,plump,pink)
Identify all of the adjectives:
The bird ate the worm quickly and flapped furiously back to her nest.
(HA! Don't be fooled! There are NONE! Quickly and furiously are adverbs. "Quickly" and "Furiously" describe the way the bird ate and flapped. "Ate" and "flapped" are verbs. Adjectives describe ONLY nouns.)

We use an adjective with a noun to limit the meaning of the noun. The adjective qualifies the noun. Some adjectives tells what kind, for example, heavy.Heavy is an adjective of quality.
Adjectives of quantity tell how many, for example, twenty, eight etc. Demonstrative adjectives are like, this that, these and those.
Interrogative adjectives are used with nouns to ask questions eg. what, which.

Adjectives are words that modify nouns...examples, beautiful bird (the adjective is beautiful), purple rain (the adjective is purple) and small dish (the adjective is small). Hope this helps--just remember if it describes a noun and is usually in front of the noun it is probably an adjective.

adjective words are words that come before a noun, which is a person place or thing, that describe it. So when you say blue sky, the adjective is blue, decribing the sky. You could also decribe a person or thing.
Some adjectives are hot, ready, steaming, red, bumpy, gargling, hissing, gelatin-like, metal, etc.
