My husband and I live in central AZ, and if anyone knows it gets REALLY hot here, well anyway, we are having the baby in May, I am a little nervous because I am afraid it's way too hot for the baby, it really feels like you are in a oven and you can't go anywhere. Has anyone had their baby in the summer where it is really hot? What kind of clothes should I let the baby wear, things like onesies? It's too hot to do anything like go out for a walk, I don't want to be trapped in the house all the time, you have to use air condition for everything.

I had my son in June 05, right smack in the middle of a terrible Texas summer! Honestly, you probably won't be going a lot of places those first 3 months anyway b/c it's just so hard to get out of the house! I bought a really good fan for my son's room and dressed him in light clothes...he was totally fine. You can go to public places like a mall or grocery store to get out of the house. Good luck!

I think the first few months you should try to stay inside.. But when the baby gets bigger and older go outside with him/her for a few mins please dont stay out to long. Get the baby used to the hot weather baby steps at a time. Oh and ALWAYS put sun block on the baby. And get a summer hat so its little head dont get burned. maybe have something cool like a wet wash rag dap the baby's face with it. Its ok to do that if u have waterproof sun block.. I wish u the best. Actually if you really need the best advice speck to your prenantal doctor they should answer any questions u should have. if they cant answer then when you are giving birth after you have slept and ate and what not ask to speak to the doctor caring for your baby. Heres helpful advice get a note pad write down things that comes to your mind u want to ask and dont want to forget and put it in your hospital bag that you will take to the hospital I had my baby in July it was HOT here and I staied at home for a LONG time before I went out I only left when I had to to get formula, diapers or doctor apointments.. .....good luck

Remember that you're baby is currently 98.6 degrees, 24/7 right now. I wouldn't worry too much about this...

If the baby gets bright red while outside, best to get him in. Otherwise, put him in a simple one piece outfit and let him enjoy the outdoors (keep that sun off of him!)

A baby will be fine in the heat as long as you keep them very hydrated and sun blocked with a hat and sun screen.
