Nathan is great for a boy. Also Ethan or James. Consider Samuel.
For a girl a name like Emma. or Olivia or Christine is nice. Tatiana is Russian and I also like Fiona (Irish). Claire is good.
My sister's name is Martha, and she dislikes it. I have never known a Martha who liked her name.
Check out names in the Bible--maybe New Testament. Old Testament names like Jeremiah are a little old-fashioned sounding, although Jeremy is a modern version.
Another super idea is to check your family tree and use names that are on your family tree, like names used by your great-grandparents so it won't be confusing (if you use a name for your child that is currently in use by a relative, it can be confusing).
You can also use an ancestor's maiden name as a child's middle name.

Good baby names are ones that both you and your partner enjoy the sound of, something that will evoke a nice feeling in you both. It also helps if they don't rhyme with bodily functions.

Depends on your religion/religious beliefs, to some extent. Some people would never name their kid Lucifer, for instance.
